Analytics and data collection

This site uses a privacy-focused analytics tool (Umami) to understand which pages and articles are useful to readers — for example, how many people visit a page and roughly where visitors come from. This analytics tool does not use cookies, does not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information, and does not track you across other websites. No individual visitor is identified — the data collected is aggregated and anonymous. It tells me that an article was read, not who read it.

Beyond this, the only data this site could ever receive from you is what you choose to send directly — for example, by emailing palash@palashmukherjee.org or connecting via the LinkedIn link in the navigation. Both happen entirely outside this website, inside your own email client or LinkedIn account.

The Honest Check tools

The interactive Honest Check tools run entirely in your own browser. The selections you make to get a result are not transmitted anywhere, stored, or recorded individually. Nothing you click or type is retained once you close or refresh the page.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. The analytics tool in use is cookie-free by design, so no cookie consent banner is shown. If this changes — for example, if a different tool requiring cookies or personal data is ever introduced — this policy will be updated first, and a cookie consent option will be added at that point.

Third-party links

This site links out to LinkedIn. Once you follow that link, you leave this site and become subject to LinkedIn's own privacy practices, which are outside my control.
